Why We Give

When we return our finances to God, it is an act of worship and thankfulness. Ultimately, we give because God first gave to us! But the Bible also teaches that as we step into the principles of tithing and generosity, our lives are changed. By inviting God into the arena of our finances, we break the power of greed over our hearts, store up treasure in heaven, invite blessing into our life, and position ourselves to be the hands and feet of Jesus!

For more surrounding the principle of giving, here are some Sunday messages to watch.

Promise Center Partnership

"But since you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you—see that you also excel in this grace of giving." (2 Corinthians 8:7)

There are two types of financial partners at the Promise Center. Our church believes that generosity is our privilege, and we encourage you to be a part of what God is building in Sonoma County & beyond. If you want to become an official partner and grow in the grace of giving, sign up to take the Grace Challenge today!

Vision Partners

God invites us to partner with Him in giving to build His local church! Vision Partners are those who decide to embrace the spiritual discipline of giving by choosing to bring a consistent monthly gift. Giving is a decision to trust God and let Him add blessing back into our lives. This is a great first step for people to begin giving financially to the Promise Center and start taking steps toward tithing. We encourage you to pray and ask God at what level He would have you begin to invest in His house.

Faith Partners

Level up your faith and let God show His faithfulness! Faith Partners are those who want to step into a covenant of faith and trust God with a tithe. Tithing (giving the first 10% of your income) is the Biblical, consistent, and tangible way that we put God first in our lives, and clearly establish our priorities and who we are serving. The tithe “opens the window of heaven” and invites God’s blessing into our life (Malachi 3:10 NLT).

Frequently Asked Questions

What Happens to my money when I give to the Promise Center?

When you give to the Promise Center, God does something amazing!

* He multiplies your gifts and does more with it than any of us could ask or imagine.
* Your tithe becomes part of God’s plan to resource the local church to do His work here on earth.
* And He also allows you to be a part of all He is doing in your community and around the world through Local and Global Mission Partners.

Know that we honor your gifts with faithful stewardship, ethical practices, and full accountability so that the financial integrity of the Promise Center remains beyond reproach.

Do I receive a tax deduction for my giving?

Promise Center is a U.S. not-for-profit and meets the tax-exempt requirements of section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. We will email out a giving statement in the beginning of the year to the email associated with your account. You can also request a physical statement by emailing giving@thepromisecenter.com.

What’s the difference between recurring and one-time gifts?

Recurring Giving is the tool we use to schedule your gifts to process on a regular basis.

When you set up a recurring gift through the Promise Center you’re choosing to consistently invest in the life-change that happens here. So if you are ever out of town or forget to give, you can be confident that you are still giving.
* Recurring Giving Options:
* Weekly
* Bi-Weekly (every two weeks from start date)
* 1st & 15th
* Monthly

One-Time Gifts
* A One-Time Gift is a single gift that only processes when you initiate or schedule it.
* One-Time Gifts can be given immediately or scheduled for a future date but will only process once.

How can I see my giving history or edit my recurring gift?

Once you give through Overflow for the first time, a personal profile will be created for you associated with the phone number or email address you used to give. You can use that same phone number or email address to log in to your Donor Profile and see all of your giving history, tax documents, and payment methods in one place. You can access your Donor Profile by clicking HERE.

What are Tithes & Offerings?

Tithing is a biblical principal. God calls us to give the first 10% of our income back to Him. We’ve seen God provide abundantly in our church, and we know He will provide abundantly for you and your family when you put Him first in your finances.

Offerings are given out of the generous spirit that God has given us and not connected to income. Offerings can be given both throughout the year and for specific strategic initiatives such as our end of year offering.

How can I find out more about creative giving and Stock/Crypto/DAF donations?
